Welcome to Self-Publish 101. If you are here, it‘s because you are in the process or have the intention to publish a book or at least print and bind some kind of book, journal or other material. If this is the case, you came to the right place or so we believe. If you are not sure, you can verify if this site is for you. This website was conceived as an introductory course for those venturing into the world of publishing. If you are patient enough to read each one of its “chapters” you should be able - at the end, to completely manage the process of publishing your own book, all by yourself. But we don‘t pretend to have the perfect website. Far from that. Consider this web-site as a living being, in constant evolution, thanks to the contributions of people like you, the reader.

How to proceed?

To help you understand the process in its totality, this site was divided into sections, or lessons, independent from each other. This means that you can go through the whole web-site, lesson by lesson, or you can consult only the topic that is important for you. Just be sure that you know enough of the topics you are not consulting as all of them are very important to understand your responsibilities as a self-published author and what to expect during the process of publishing your book.

Why did we create this online course?

We needed only few months working with self-published authors to realized that most of our customers had little or no knowledge of the universe they were stepping into. From the first moment we talked with our customers, we had to explain each step of the process, guide them through the different possibilities and reassure them of the choices we had made together.

From those conversations to an on-line course was a small step. All we had to do was put together all that information following the sequence of events - or steps, and the whole course was ready. The idea was to provide prospective authors with an insight on all aspects of publishing, preparing them to all that would come after.

It‘s common sense that if you leave for the last moment, if you learn about your options only when a decision must be made, you will more likely make the wrong choices, choose the hardest way. You may even do what is best for you, but you will definitely take much less pleasure of the process itself. Customers that didn‘t know what the process entitles and were pressed by time because didn‘t take into consideration steps that they didn't even know existed, were stressed, suffered from anxiety and finished the process “thanking” for its ending and promising never getting into that again. That‘s what this web-site is all about: avoid the stress and the anguish of learning during the process. Give authors the knowledge, show the tools and prepare them for what is ahead.
